In a strategic move that underscores the growing trend of celebrity investments in real estate, Bollywood star Sara Ali Khan and her mother, Amrita Singh, have acquired two commercial office spaces in Andheri West, Mumbai. The duo invested a substantial Rs 22.26 crore in these properties, showcasing their commitment to expanding their real estate portfolio.

Details of the Acquisition

According to registration documents obtained from FloorTap.com, Sara and Amrita purchased the two units located on the ninth floor of the Signature Building, situated off Veera Desai Road. Each unit is valued at Rs 11.13 crore, and a stamp duty of Rs 66.8 lakh was paid per unit. With a built-up area of 2,099 sq. ft. and a carpet area of 1,905 sq. ft. each, the transaction was officially registered on October 10, 2024, and includes three dedicated parking spots for each office.

This latest acquisition follows their earlier investment in July 2023, when the mother-daughter duo bought a commercial unit on the fourth floor of the same building for Rs 9 crore, also including three parking spaces.

A Celebrity Trend in Real Estate

The Signature Building has become a hub for high-profile celebrity investments. Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan recently acquired four office units on the 21st floor for Rs 7.18 crore each, amounting to a total carpet area of 7,620 sq. ft. This purchase, registered on September 1, incurred a stamp duty of Rs 1.72 crore. Similarly, actor Kartik Aaryan purchased an office space on the fourth floor for Rs 10.9 crore on September 4, with a stamp duty of Rs 47.55 lakh.

In a parallel move, actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut also made headlines with her real estate investment. She acquired a 407 sq. ft. office space on the 19th floor of Arch One in Andheri for Rs 1.56 crore, translating to a rate of Rs 38,391 per sq. ft. on carpet. This purchase further highlights the trend of Bollywood personalities actively engaging in Mumbai’s commercial property market.
