83-Km Expressway to Connect Jewar Airport with Ganga Expressway: A Boon for Uttar Pradesh’s Infrastructure

Noida to Benefit from New Link Expressway; 57 Villages to be Part of the Route

A significant infrastructure boost is underway for Noida and surrounding areas, with the development of an 83-kilometer link expressway set to connect the upcoming Jewar International Airport directly with the Ganga Expressway. The ambitious project will pass through 57 villages across Gautam Buddha Nagar and Bulandshahr, linking Jewar Airport to the Ganga Expressway—a major route connecting Meerut to Prayagraj. Officials project a total investment of approximately 4,000 crore rupees for this new corridor.

Seamless Connectivity for International Travelers

According to experts, the new expressway is expected to streamline connectivity across the region, especially for international travelers arriving at Jewar Airport, who will now have direct access to major parts of Uttar Pradesh, extending as far as Prayagraj. Designed to support the state’s growing infrastructure needs, this link expressway also highlights the Uttar Pradesh government’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity.

To plan the route, a feasibility study and survey, commissioned by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) through consultancy firm Redicon India, has been completed. This route will require nearly 1,000 hectares of land, predominantly from farmers in the region, which will be acquired or purchased.

Expanding Expressway Networks: A Vision for Growth

The Jewar-Ganga Expressway Link is one of four new link expressways recently announced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. These expressways aim to improve regional infrastructure, reduce travel times, and connect key cities and economic hubs across Uttar Pradesh.

The state government is also planning additional link expressways, including one from Agra-Lucknow Expressway to Purvanchal Expressway and another linking Farrukhabad to the Ganga Expressway via Agra-Lucknow Expressway. A separate link is also envisioned for Chitrakoot, aligning with the government’s vision to drive economic growth by expanding expressway networks.

Future Prospects and Economic Impact

Officials expect the new expressway developments to significantly boost the local economy, supporting sectors like logistics, real estate, and tourism. Jewar Airport’s link to the Ganga Expressway is anticipated to increase property values along the route and attract further investment into the region. Additionally, efficient transport options will facilitate ease of doing business and encourage regional trade.

With comprehensive preliminary reports now submitted, UPEIDA is advancing efforts to begin construction at the earliest opportunity. The project aligns with Uttar Pradesh’s broader strategy to position itself as a hub for infrastructural and economic progress in North India.
