ED Arrests Fraudster for Renting Seized Gurugram Property in Drug Trafficking Case

Accused Poses as Owner of Property Worth ₹85.60 Lakh

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken into custody Harsh Yadav, who allegedly unsealed a property in Tech Park, Sector-49, Gurugram, seized by the agency in connection with a drug trafficking investigation. Yadav is accused of renting out the property while posing as its owner.

Multiple Charges: Drug Trafficking and Forgery

Harsh Yadav is also under investigation for his involvement in a separate case of forgery and counterfeiting, registered by the Gurugram police. This case involves the forgery of coins, currency, and government stamps.

Property Seized for Proceeds of Crime

According to the ED, Yadav was unlawfully in possession of the ₹85.60 lakh property, which had been attached by the agency as it was identified as proceeds of crime related to illicit drug trafficking. The property was originally linked to a larger network of drug trafficking orchestrated by Amit Kumar, Archana Sharma, and others.

Large-scale Drug Trafficking Operation Uncovered

The ED’s investigation was triggered by a criminal complaint and charge-sheet from the Narcotics Control Bureau, Delhi. The case centers around Amit Kumar of Zatak Softech Private Limited (ZSPL), who allegedly operated an internet-based pharmacy exporting narcotics and psychotropic medicines internationally. Authorities have seized a substantial amount of narcotics, 17 forged rubber stamps, and incriminating documents. The total proceeds of crime in this case amount to ₹23.32 crore.

Illegal Gains and Asset Seizures

Funds from these illegal activities were reportedly used by Kumar to acquire several real estate properties. To date, the ED has attached seven assets valued at ₹5.73 crore, including the Tech Park property. Yadav is accused of benefiting from these proceeds by creating a rental agreement under his mother’s name, Babita Yadav. The ED has conducted searches at Yadav’s premises and seized various documents related to the case.
